I know. Ya wanna know how to make the crochet mesh stitch. Don’t worry! I’ll make sure by the ends of this, you will know how to make it! This is actually, a stitch that I learned how to make a while ago, and I’ve used it a few times in various designs I’ve made over the years. It is a very airy stitch, for example, I used it to make the Beach Day Crochet Scarf Pattern. There are different ways to make the mesh stitch, and I may show ya others in the future, but for now, let’s focus on this aligned version. 🙂
BTW if ya wanna follow me, my fave is Insta @AshleyDylanLife
I’ve taken the time just for you to make this video to show ya how!
Or this photo tutorial!
I know you’re thinking, but ya already did the first row. Don’t worry, it’s the same for the first row as it is for any other row. The only difference is that you are working in the chain instead of stitches. You should be all good! So first, I chained 3 (counts as a double crochet and chain 1) and skipped 2 stitches.
Next, I made a double crochet in the next stitch.
This is where I started my repeat. I chained one and skipped one stitch.
Then I made a double crochet in the next stitch, ending the repeat. I continued that pattern all the way across.
Once I came to the end, I had 2 more mesh stitches to make. I chained one and skipped on stitch.
Then double crochet in next stitch.
This is the last mess stitch. I chained one and skipped one stitch.
Then I double crocheted in the chain from the previous row. This will give you a smooth edge. Congrats! You finished the crochet mesh stitch! 😀 Woohoo!
Do ya have a fave stitch? If so, let me know in the comments below, and I might just use it in a new pattern and tutorial!
