I remember the first time I started crocheting. I was in a room full of women crafting on afternoon after classes. Then caught a glimpse of my mother’s crochet hook and yarn. I figured why not? I’m bored. So I asked my mother to teach me how to crochet and she taught me how to hold the hook and yarn, and chain in a matter of minutes. Of course, you can imagine how terrible I looked. Sitting at that round table, and attempting not to let the yarn fall, all while learning crochet. 🤫 Yikes!
Congrats! It’s time to start crocheting! The first thing you need to learn is how to make a chain. Every project, weather it’s flat or round uses chains to start. Making chains is pretty simple. You just wrap the yarn around the hook once and pull it through the loop on the hook. See? Easy peasy!
On a side note, you can find me on Instagram @AshleyDylanLife.
In case you need a bit of help
And for lefty’s
Here’s a photo tutorial of the foundation chain
Take the yarn over the crochet hook.
Pull the crochet hook through the loop.
And that’s how you make a foundation chain or chain for short!

And before I completely forget, I know sometimes you need some extra help with something. Well since I'm really busy, it can take me a day or 2 before I can get back to you. The thing is, I feel REALLY bad about that. So I created the Ultimate Knit and Crochet Facebook group. It's got some really awesome women that love to share their projects, help out and get inspired from your cool adventures. But if you'd rather wait, you can always DM me on Insta for a lil extra help. :) All good?
I'm probably leaving something out. I'm only human afterall. Contribute to this information in the comments below!
